I arrived at Casual Dining 2015 at the Business Design Centre on a drizzly Wednesday afternoon without any expectations of what lay ahead… except hopefully a dry, warm escape from the rain.
From catering equipment and outlet signage to food and drink producers, this show was far from dismal; there was so much choice! This was definitely the place for any operator in the on premise, coffee shop or dining business to have interesting conversations, pick up a tip or two and maybe even walk away with a deal.
As I made my way through the stands two things were abundantly clear:
1) I wouldn’t need to eat dinner – there were enough free samples to feed an army
2) There were two kinds of exhibitor – those that simply turned up and those that brought the sparkle
One client of ours at the show, Britvic had an impressive bar lounge stand to unveil its new and revamped range of packaged soft drinks. Led by J₂O Spritz, a new lightly sparkling soft drink range available in three flavours – Pear and Raspberry, Peach and Apricot and Apple and Watermelon – Britvic’s Adult Packaged Portfolio really does offer operators a huge range which is perfect for Adult Socialising Occasions. The stand was buzzing and it was clear that everything from samples of the new products to the plush furniture and coffee table books created an environment that was incredibly engaging and conducive to business-building conversations.
Success is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well.
