Last week the Publicasity team braved the coldest night of the year to launch HomeSense’s Secret Summer in Winter Garden. Designed to bring to life the brand’s creative platform of ‘Thrilling Spaces’, this pop-up consumer experience was open to the public for two nights and saw us transform the railway arches of ProVision Studios in Hoxton into a magical secret garden using beautiful products from HomeSense stores.
In contrast to the sub-zero temperatures, guests were treated to summer themed cocktails (elderflower sake-tini anyone?!) and quirky canapes encompassing the likes of smoked trout lollypops and green tea macarons whilst wondering through an abundance of flower and greenery, a candlelit picnic area and jewel-toned lounge space.
For the VIP launch we played host to media and celebrities including reality star Ashley James, Snapchat stars Poppy Jamie and Nicole Morales, model Chloe Lloyd and DJ Pandora Christie, all of whom posted on Instagram from the event with the hashtag #secretgardenproject. With the team selling in pictures of the event overnight, coverage landed across a range of national titles the following morning, including the Daily Mail and Evening Standard.
Did we rest on our laurels? But of course not, a few hours later we were back in Hoxton for the consumer night – cocktails in hands and summer dresses at the ready – turning our curious guests into new advocates of the HomeSense brand. Having spent two nights amongst flowers, festoon lights and that all-important industrial heater, what a jolt it was to return to reality and remember it’s December, we need gloves and we haven’t bought any Christmas presents yet…
