The annual Christmas in July season was upon us once again and the Publicasity were in the thick of it, hosting both a dual branded event for HomeSense and TK Maxx Home, as well as a culinary journey around the world for Wyndham.
The HomeSense and TK Mass Home event took place in the heart of Covent Garden, where guests were treated to an informal drinks soiree with canapes, as they wandered through a homeware winter wonderland with sequined reindeers, glistening gold glassware and clusters of candles.
Journalists from an array of titles including London Evening Standard, Metro, Ideal Home and Good Housekeeping attended to get their sneak preview glimpse of the latest Christmas trends from the brands-for-less retailers. From vintage luxury with lashings of plush red velvet, metallic gold and pops of emerald green, to modern metallic decorations, and the new Nordic mix of cool whites and dark blues, there was something for all our press to feast their eyes on and warm up for Christmas.
Before our guests left the Christmas showcase, they were treated to a personalised gifting experience, with HomeSense notepads embossed with their initials to take away with them.
The Wyndham Hotel Group team explored the opportunity to enjoy Christmas in a different way and invited target press to Berry, Bros and Rudd for a culinary journey around the world with Wyndham.
Taste buds were tantalised with a festive feast that used three courses to capture taste and tradition from across the globe. Throughout the exotic experience, the attending journalists were given an exclusive inside look at the hottest places to visit this holiday season. In addition to enjoying some face time with the world’s largest hotel group, the attendees were informed about the 16 iconic brands under the Wyndham umbrella.
With the publications already planning their Christmas content, the team compiled guides on the best Christmas Markets in Europe as well as alternative and exciting destinations for New Year’s Eve, to provide insider tips and inspiration ahead of the busy Christmas travel time. Not to stop at the delicious dinner, press left with a Christmas present of 30,000 Wyndham Reward points – enough for a complimentary two night stay at one of Wyndham’s hotel anywhere around the world, as well as a gingerbread reindeer.
As we bid farewell to a mix of editors and freelancers including The Daily Telegraph, Vanity Fair, Tatler, Stylist, Red, Glamour, Escapism, Cosmopolitan, Metro, Daily Express, Woman’s Own, The Evening Standard, The Guardian, The Sloaney and more, we heard on the grapevine that this ‘one of the best organised press events I’ve been to this year’…. Phew… time to relax! Until Christmas!
