Call us crazy, but it’s never too early to be talking about Christmas in the world of PR – in fact, now is the perfect time for retailers to get ahead of the game and show a glimpse their festive collections to key press. So, at the height of summer (albeit, with torrential rain pouring outside), the Homesense team orchestrated an intimate Christmas preview event at the sumptuous Six Storeys townhouse in Soho, where three rooms were transformed into glittering caves filled with baubles, wreaths, and plenty of glitter.
Curated with expert stylist Emily Dawe, press were taken on a journey to festive fabulousness; from TK Maxx’s beautiful barware and accessories (marble wrapping paper is our new obsession), to a dining table filled to the brim with metallic dinnerware and statement centrepieces from Homesense, every room was a feast for the eyes. The pièce de résistance was on the top floor, a pink swan complete with tiara and shimmering tealights. Instagram dynamite!
After a cocktail reception and the product preview, attendees from The Sunday Times, the Daily Mail, The Sun, Good Housekeeping and more were treated to a three course meal of sea salt cured salmon, sirloin of beef and a divine peanut butter cheesecake. That’s Christmas, wrapped up!
So tonight I went to a dinner with @myhomesense to see lots of fab Xmas product, catch up with the team and basically eat and drink away the cold I've developed over the last 24 hours. During the course of the evening I've learnt a few things: 1) There is a new HomeSense store at Greenwich – just opened. Hurrah! 2) HomeSense is just great – I forget how many one-off, never-seen-again random products they have. I mean take this swan. It's pink. It has a tiara. Perhaps it's a swan posing as a flamingo? Regardless, where are you ever likely to see this again? Oh and 3) Alcohol cures germs. Literally feel so much better! Night night 'grammars, until tomorrow 👋🏻
