This week the Publicasity home team descended upon Frankfurt for its annual home show, Ambiente. From emerging trends to the latest products on the market, the team scoured the vast ten hall event over their fleeting one-day visit to Germany.

Whilst we primarily work with home clients in the UK we were eager to see which global trends will cross into the UK with some of the most prominent being:

1.Colourful Intentions – comprising dynamic, folkloric, powerful primary colourways

2.Technological emotions – a focus on visionary, experimental design with metallic accents and a dark, intriguing colour palette

3.Opulent narrations – think lavish, extravagant, ornamental designs with rich colourways of purple, pink and green

It was great to see the latest NPDs (we are huge fans of Brabantia’s new Bo Touch Bin) and the bursts of ice cream shades on stands from Le Creuset to LSA. KitchenAid dominated the third hall with its vast range of products and colourways and Bugatti’s designs for its new Jacqueline kettle gave us huge home envy.

In the interiors and decorations hall the weird and the wonderful caught our eye, with German brand KARE showcasing everything from giant gorillas and French bulldogs, to meerkats, polar bears and neon llamas. Move over Flamingo…. we hear the four-legged, woolly animals are set to be big in the home for 2018.

So we have come away wiser, better equipped to advise our clients and with even lighter wallets than when we went!
