Last week I was lucky enough to return to what was at one point some years ago, classed as my home city, the ever pleasing Paris. Whilst this time I was travelling there for work purposes to Maison & Objet, it most certainly did not disappoint. Think stomping the equivalent of eight aircraft hanger size exhibition halls at the Paris Nord Villepinte centre where you can see the latest offer from the top international players in home decor, interior design, architecture. The exhibition space furnished us with some great ideas on what the house of the future might look like, emerging industry talent, a plethora of new products that we might expect to see in our own homes next season.

Plus through the programme of seminars and events, I picked up some great insights into the latest lifestyle culture and trends such “phygitalization” where a boutique becomes a physical marketplace, how brand story telling becomes “story doing’ and how impactful both Instagram and Pinterest are on home interiors marketing, it certainly felt like ‘candy in a sweetshop’ for anyone who has a passion for homewares and interior design like we do at Publicasity.

What was also great to experience was a modern comms approach to the show’s marketing making the visitor experience so easy thanks to a show app, email marketing and real time updates to the show’s social channels.
