Our home interiors team has been out and about exploring the latest trends at Top Drawer this week. Here is our lowdown of the top three looks that are set to be a hit in the home for SS18.
Our need to travel is still strong in SS18. Whether you collect trinkets from your own adventures or hunt for travel inspired accessories to compliment an exotic interior in the aisles of your favourite homeware store, it is safe to say that this trend is here to stay. Feeling brave with colour? Take inspiration from India and Morocco and fill your home with bright soft furnishings and accessories in summery hues of pink, orange and aqua. Alternatively, take inspiration from safaris and decorate your home with muted tones, adding a luxe look with metallic accessories and Aztec or animal inspired accessories. Whatever colour scheme you choose, layer lots of different textures and you can’t go wrong.
Rich, jewel tones were popular across the board at Top Drawer. Add a little luxury to your home with soft, velvet fabrics in regal purple, blue and strong fuchsia hues and accessorise with stunning faux florals and metallic accessories for a look that defines grandeur.
‘Mindfulness’ seems to be a buzz word for 2018 and this is further reflected in the world of interiors where we can see more and more calming hues in our accessories and furnishings. Simplicity is key with less clutter in the home so that we can navigate with ease with all accessories that are on show having a purpose in day to day life. We know that connected appliances are only on the rise, so do these trends combined mean that we are moving closer to the ‘smart home’? Watch this space…
