It’s not all glitz and glamour in the world of PR, but then again, our drinks lead did get to go to California last month!
It was all for work of course, and
US bartender GN Chan beat a strong field of original cocktails created by top bartenders from 36 countries around the world to take the coveted title with a cocktail inspired by the Piña Colada named Venceremos – Spanish for ‘We will overcome’ – a nod to GN’s own journey into bartending. The final followed a week of interesting seminars for bartenders covering everything from tips to maintaining their health to a Q&A session with BACARDÍ Master Distiller, Jose Sanchez Gavito, as well as tours of San Francisco’s top bars.
In the lead-up to the final, all 36 bartenders were judged not just on their cocktails, but their own marketing campaigns. This sets Legacy apart from other industry competitions and something we will continue to look forward to every year!
