Last night, some of the Publicasity team donned their party shoes and headed to the National Television Awards with our clients from Heineken. A few of our trade journalists came along to join us for what was an entertaining evening of hospitality, glitz and, of course, celeb-spotting. The show was great fun, we saw all the celebs on stage, danced along to the live music and laughed all the way through the presentation of the special recognition award to Billy Connolly.
With young people watching less tv and instead opting for streaming services, it was great to see Orange Is The New Black included in the International category. We wonder when dramas like OITNB Narcos and The Man in the High Tower, will be included across all categories? The awards celebrated their 21st show last night, but with viewing figures falling, will there still be a place for it in its traditional format in another 21 years? Perhaps we’ll be invited to attend the ‘The Streamies’ instead!
